Natural Picea abies Resin – Wild-Harvested in Estonia

Natural, wild-harvested Picea abies (L.) H. Karst. resin from Estonia, available for B2B and industrial supply.

Miyora supplies authentic natural Picea abies resin, also known as Norway spruce resin, hand-collected from spruce trees growing in the forests of Southern Estonia.

Our resin is supplied in its natural and untreated state. It is not extracted, refined, washed or chemically processed, and no additives or other substances are added.

Wild-harvested Picea abies resin from Estonia

Our Picea abies resin is collected by hand in the forests of Southern Estonia, away from major roads, industrial areas and other obvious sources of contamination.

The resin is harvested with respect for the trees and the surrounding forest environment. We do not intentionally tap or make cuts into healthy trees for the purpose of inducing resin production.

We collect naturally exuded resin and, where possible, prefer resin from trees that have already been affected by storms, broken branches or other natural damage.

The result is an authentic European forest raw material with minimal intervention between its natural origin and the customer.

Available forms of Picea abies resin

Active / semi-soft Picea abies resin

Fresh or semi-soft naturally exuded spruce resin, sometimes referred to as active resin. The material retains a soft or semi-soft, resinous consistency and is collected and supplied in its natural state.

Active / semi-soft Picea abies resin is naturally less abundant than hardened resin. For this reason, availability is more limited and larger quantities are subject to confirmation.

Passive / hardened Picea abies resin

Naturally aged and hardened spruce resin, sometimes referred to as passive resin. The material is supplied as natural, untreated and unrefined resin pieces.

Hardened / passive Picea abies resin is our primary form for larger B2B quantities and offers significantly greater supply availability than active / semi-soft resin.

Ground Picea abies resin

Hardened Picea abies resin can also be supplied in mechanically ground form. The natural hardened resin pieces are ground without the use of solvents or chemical treatment. No additives are introduced during the grinding process.

Natural and unrefined forest raw material

Our Picea abies resin is intentionally supplied as a minimally processed natural forest raw material. Natural variations in colour, consistency, aroma and appearance can therefore occur between individual pieces and batches.

The untreated resin may contain small amounts of naturally occurring forest material, such as particles of bark or wood. The material is not represented as analytically purified or refined resin.

Customers requiring specific purity levels, sorting, particle sizes or other quality parameters are welcome to discuss their requirements with us.

Traceable Picea abies resin for B2B supply

For B2B customers requiring traceability, individual resin batches can be identified according to their collection area and collection period. Material form and any subsequent processing, such as mechanical grinding, can also be recorded on a batch basis.

This enables us to develop a structured supply programme for customers requiring recurring quantities of natural Picea abies resin from a consistent geographical source.

Supply capacity and commercial quantities

Based on our current harvesting and sourcing capacity, we are able to supply at least 500 kg of hardened / passive Picea abies resin annually.

Our supply network and harvesting activity can be adjusted according to demand, making recurring B2B supply possible.

Active / semi-soft resin occurs naturally in considerably smaller quantities and its availability therefore needs to be confirmed individually.

We welcome enquiries for evaluation samples as well as commercial quantities including 25 kg, 50 kg, 100 kg, 200 kg and larger recurring requirements.

Samples available for evaluation

Representative samples of our natural Picea abies resin are available for companies wishing to evaluate the raw material before placing a commercial order.

Depending on current availability, samples can be supplied as active / semi-soft resin, passive / hardened resin pieces and mechanically ground hardened resin.

Photographs of currently available material can also be provided prior to ordering.

Documentation and customer-specific requirements

Our Picea abies resin has traditionally been supplied as an untreated natural forest raw material rather than as a standardised analytical ingredient.

Customers requiring specific analytical parameters, product specifications, laboratory testing or batch-specific documentation are invited to provide their qualification requirements.

For recurring B2B supply relationships, we are open to establishing appropriate traceability, batch control, specifications and analytical testing according to the requirements of the intended application and customer.
